Prestigious Armed Forces Command & Staff College (AFCSC), Inaugurates Senior Course 43, 2020.

The Presigious Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Jaji-Nigeria on Friday 21st August 2020 inaugurated members of Senior Course 43 of the College.

The 230 Senior Officers selected for the course were officers who have distinguished themselves from their various chosen careers.  

They comprised of  Military Officers  from Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Gambia, Ghana, Niger and Tanzania.

 Other students were drawn from the Paramilitary Organisations, Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

Speaking at the Inauguration Ceremony, the Commandant of the College, Air Vice Marshal  Abubakar Sani Liman, described the course as a milestone in the senior officers careers. 

 He noted that the  mission of the college is “to train tactical and operational level officers in standardised command and staff duties through professional military education to effectively accomplish the constitutional roles of the Armed Forces in Africa”.

The Commandant then enjoined the officers to exhibit self discipline, respect and good leadership qualities and also to embrace hard work. 

He opined that at the completion of the course, trust and confidence would be the watchword of the officers.

AVM Limam then warned  that any act of indiscipline and examination malpractice would be dictected and seriously dealt with.

He advised them to attend the prestigious AVM AO Ogundana Officers’ Mess and to socialize but reminded them to obey the standing orders and rules in the mess and College.

He said, “As I advised you to socialize, I enjoined you to be ethical and morally upright and to attend service ” (worship God).

The Commandant also cautioned the students not to frequent the Zaria – Kaduna road especially at night, for security reasons.

 “You must take your personal security very serious”, he added.

Recall that Members of Senior Course 43 assembled at the College on 5 August 2020. 

However, in compliance with the recommendation of the National Centre for Disease Control toward curbing the spread of the on-going COVID 19 pandemic, they students were quarantined.

 The rule of social distance were also maintained during the inauguration ceremony.

The ceremony was well attended. Present at the ceremony were; the Commandant, Deputy Commandant, Rear Admiral MK Unurhiere, Directors, Chief Instructors, Directing and Administrative Staff of the College.
