The National Coordinator Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) CSP Ebere Amaraizu has stated that the upcoming POCACOV National Youth Summit will be a veritable ground of mobilizing Nigerian Youths and help for their proper engagement towards achieving the desired global action.
He made this known while responding to questions from newsmen shortly after delivering his lecture titled Youths and Dangers of Drug/Substance Abuse in Nigeria which was held on 12/8/2020 at the indoor Sports Complex of Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu to mark the 2020 international Youth Day in Enugu.
According to Amaraizu, POCACOV is here to reorient Nigerian Youth to discover their potentials as future leaders and to uphold those potentials by saying No To Cultism, Substance Abuse, Sexual and Gender Based Violence, Thuggery and other vices in order to be a champion
He pointed out that cultism and other vices presents themselves as veils covering the eyes of the youth thereby shutting them off from discovering their potentials.
He maintained that the upcoming POCACOV/Stakeholders National Youth Summit and other Pocacov Youth activity programme will help to mobilize the youths, educate and strenghten their consciousness and giving them the strategic leadership direction that will help them realize the enormous potentials in them.
It will help them to see themselves as change agents, transform them from job seekers to job generators and will be full packed life changing event.
It will help promote peace by the youths in the society in line with the community peace building programme of pocacov volunteer club scheme of safer school/community partnership.
It will help build and promote and equip youths with the required knowledge to build a sustainable society for national security and development amongst other things.
POCACOV is the initiative of the Nigeria Police Force under IGP M.A Adamu aimed at saving Nigerian Children and Youths from the claws of cultism and other vices and thereby making our society safe and secured.
It is a community driven programme involving different stakeholders in line with the tenets of community oriented policing.
