As part of the activities lined-up for the Nigerian Army Day Celebration, Guards Brigade Garrison earlier on Friday distributed palliatives to widows in Mambilla Barracks.
The Guards Brigade Garrison Commander Lt Col OJ Okwoli noted that remembering the families of soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the peace of our Nation cannot be taken for granted. Therefore, the need to assist their widows is paramount.
Presenting the palliatives to the widows and a tricycle to a beneficiary, the Commander, Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Takuti Usman expressed his happiness over the items provided for the widows by the Garrison Commander.
The Commander Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Usman who also supported the widows with various sums of money, stated that the distribution of the palliatives will continue on 4th July 2020 at Umaisha, Toto Local Government Area of Nassarawa State.
Present at the event were the Assistant Zonal Coordinator, Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association, Mrs Jennifer Okwoli and Staff Officers of the Brigade amongst other dignitaries.
