IGP: Police not limited to State Boundaries in Crime Fighting; as ‘Interfact Beverages’ donates Patrol Vans to Anambra, Delta Police.

Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has said the police have no defined jurisdiction in crime fighting in spite of state boundaries.

He said that officers are permitted to go into other states or areas in the course of carrying out their duties.

Idris stated this on Thursday in Onitsha, Anambra state, during the presentation of six Mitsubishi brand new patrol vehicles to the Nigeria Police and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) of Anambra and Delta States by the management of Interfact Beverages Ltd, Onitsha.

Represented by the Anambra state Commissioner of Police, Garba Umar, Idris commended the company for the good gesture, adding that the five vehicles donated to the police would help in facilitating their work.

“It will go a long way to solve problems in attending to distress calls, patrols, tracking and chasing criminals who escape beyond boundaries of the state” admitting that police have lots of challenges to tackle.
