The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) is intensifying its grassroots Campaign Mechanisms with a view to ensuring that the campaign message gets to different stakeholders and various target audience of POCACOV across the country.
This was revealed to newsmen by the National Coordinator of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) CSP Ebere Amaraizu on wednesday 29/7/2020 at the IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu Pocacov Resource Centre Enugu.
According to the Pocacov National Coordinator, the grassroots campaign mechanism being worked out is in line with the tenets of community oriented policing and to involve different stakeholders and targeted Pocacov Audience.
This will also help to strengthen the network of POCACOV Volunteer Club (PVC) scheme for safer School/Community Partnership.
The Grassroots Campaign mechanism will help to deepen the CampaignAgainst Cultism, Sexual and Gender Based Violence, Thuggery/Violence,Substance Abuse, Internet Fraud as well as other vices.
He added that with the intensification of the grassroots campaign mechanisms the issue of Daba, Karari, Shira and Sara-Suka in some Parts of the Country will be addressed.
Under the Grassroots Campaign Mechanism, POCACOV will be making use of the following which is required in strategic communication: Printed materials, Drama, Sports, Bulk SMS, Town Hall Meetings, Pamphlets, Academic Discourse, Poetry, Cartons, Literature amongst others and pointing out that the development will also help in the actualizations Goal 3 (Good health and well being) and goal 11 (Sustainable cities and communities) of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
