The Police in Delta state has rescued a kidnapped victim, 60 year old Oghenekaro Isiakpere from his abductors after three gun men trailed him to the site of his new building and kidnapped him
Delta Sttate Police operatives on receipt of a distress call on the kidnappers activities, promptly dispatched a patrol team to the scene and after hot pursuit and exchange of gun fire, the kidnapped victim was rescued, two of the hoodlums escaped while one was arrested.
Commissioner of Police, CP Hafiz Inuwa while confirming the rescue said, “On Tuesday 9th June 2020, at about 12.30 am, Police recieved a distress call that Mr Oghenekaro Isiakpere of 99 Isiefurun road, Alaska was attacked and abducted by three (3) gun me at his new building site along Okomo Grace Close, Aladja.
“The victim was whisked away in his own Toyota Corolla car at gun point by the kidnappers.
“Consequently, Patrol teams and vigilantes were swiftly mobilized to the scene and gave the hoodlums a hot chase.
“Luck however ran out for the hoodlums when the victim’s car they were using to escape crashed into the road pavement
“On sensing danger, two members of the gang immediately jumped out and took to flight while one of them, Ogaga Iyeye, 38 years old was caught and srrested.
“Exhibits recovered from the gang include one locally made cut to size gun, one live and one expended cartridges, and the victim’s Techno Spark phone.
“The victim was successfully rescued unhurt and his vehicle recovered to the station. Investigation is continuing with a view to arresting the fleeing members of the gang.”
