Delta Police Command Storm Criminal hideouts, arrests 62 suspected cultists, 4 drug dealers, recover 6 firearms.


Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested 62 suspected cultists comprising of 58 males and 8 females said to belong to the viking confraternity at Aboh.


Also arrested were 4 drug dealers who trade in Cocaine and Indian Hemp in Ibuza while a criminal hideout busted by police along Sapele road, Warri led to the recovery of 6 firearms and ammunition.


Commissioner of Police, Delta state, CP Hafiz Inuwa who confirmed the arrests, said, “On Friday  29 May  2020, following  credible information about illicit drugs trade and operation by a notorious drugs dealer at Achalla, Ibusa community, the police stormed the blackspot where hoodlums usually converge for patronage.


During the operation, police operatives arrested four suspects including one Chika  Ebele 39 years, Franklin Delum 29 years, Ndozi Arinze 29 and Emmanuel Arinze 17 years, all of Jaspan street, Achalla, Ibusa


Exhibits recovered from the blackspot were substances of cocaine, heroine and Indian Hemp.


On the arrest of the 62 cultists, the Police Command said, ” On 29/05/2020, while acting on a tip off, that suspected cultists of Aro Bargar also known as Vikings confraternity were converging in large numbers, at a burial ceremony in Aboh community, police stormed the scene.


A joint team of Ashaka divisional patrol team and SARS operatives, aided by local vigilantes consequently arrested fifty-four (54) males and eight (8) females.


 Six (6 ) buses and one Toyota Sienna car used in conveying the suspects to the burial venue were also impounded by the police.


Police also recovered some clothes belonging to the suspects which were painted with white and red colours and Aro Bagger cult inscriptions, along with some weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.


The suspects and the exhibits have been transfered to Police Command for further investigation.


 Furthermore, the Command said, regarding recovery of 6 firearms, “On 29/05/2020,  at about 5.45pm, SARS operatives acting on a tip off, stormed a criminal hideout at No. 169 Sapele road, Warri, opposite M.R.S. filling station.


“The suspects immediately took to their heels and escaped on sighting the police operatives. When a search was conducted at the scene, 3 dismantled G3 rifles with 3 locally made single barrel guns neatly concealed in a sack bag, tied to an object were recovered.


The Police added that it’s operatives are still trailing the suspects for possible arrest and investigation.
