Delta Police Command Smash 11 – man Armed Robbery,  Kidnap Gang terrorizing Oghara, Sapele, Warri, Ughelli; Recover Stolen Toyota Venza SUV

The Police in Delta State has smashed an 11-member armed robbery/kidnapping gang who had been terrorizing parts of Sapele, Warri, Ughelli, Jesse and Oghara Communities.

During the Police Operation, a Toyota Venza SUV belonging to a kidnapped victim of the gang was recovered while all the 11 suspects were arrested.

Luck ran out for the gang, following the kidnap of one Mr. Ebah Jeffery Enomate of no 7 Water Board road Sapele at Jesse town on Tuesday August 25, 2020 at about 8.35 pm and the subsequent snatching of his Toyota Vanza SUV.

Following the payment of a sum of #150,000 from the victim’s account, using his ATM stolen from the victim, the kidnapped victim was later released on Wednesday 26 August 2020.

Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Hafiz Inuwa who confirmed the arrest of the gang said apart from stealing the victim’s SUV, they stole wristwatches found in the car. 

The initial kidnap and robbery was carried out by 2 members of the gang

He said that Police operatives on getting wind of the incident, successfully trailed and arrested 9 other members of the gang from different hideouts at Ughelli, Warri, Jesse, Oghara, and Mosogar respectively

The 9 other suspects are Moses Godstime 28 years, of Otumara Community, Oghara; Sunday Abrezhedo 42 years of Jesse community, Okonota Friday 25 years of Oko Junction Community, Oghara, Omomaro Kelvin 26 years of Oghara junction, Otumara community, Felix Okoro 30 years of Opp. Garri Market Mosogar.

Others are Mike Oberabo 42 years of Ekete Inland Udu LGA, Johnbull Akani 39 years of Kokori Community, Monday Kenneth 21 years of Sakpomba road, Oghara and one Obiere James 53 years of Jesse community

 Exhibits recovered from the gang include one cut to size locally made pistol with 8 live catridges used for commission of the crime, 11 mobile phones, #17,000 cash, 2 unregistered motorcycles and one tricycle with reg no EKP 275 WA registered in Edo state.

The Police said investigation is still ongoing to unravel other members of the Gang and there ehereabouts.
