Delta Police busts Armed Robbery Mission, Arrests Stolen Car with AK 47 rifles, other Guns, 115 rounds of live ammunition in Warri.

Eagle eyed Operatives of the Delta State Police Command on Saturday, in Enerhen, Warri made recovered a stolen Toyota Camry Salon car, recovered 2 AK 47 rifles, 2 locally made firearms and 115 rounds of live ammunition.

Commissioner of Police, Hafiz Inuwa while confirming the seizure said the car was earlier snatched at Alaska area of the state.

He said, “On Saturday 30th May 2020, at about 12pm, acting on information that one Toyota Camry car with Reg No. (DELTE) EFR 289 DC, Green in colour, was snatched on Friday 29 May at Ovwian- Alaska jurisdiction was sighted along Idu bridge.

“Immediately the robbers sighted the police, two armed robbers jumped down and took to their heels and abandoned the Camry car.

“When the car was searched, two bags containing two AK 47 rifles with breach nos. 22850 and 1895, 109 live ammunition of AK 47 and one (1) locally made cut to size double barrel gun with 6 live cartridges and one empty shell.

The command added that efforts  are on top gear searching for the fleeing armed robbers while investigation is in progress.
