Defence minister represented at Ministerial meeting on Maritime Security in Gulf of Guinea.

In a bid to improve Maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea, on Friday the 29th May 2020, a Ministerial level Meeting was convened at the Sipopo International Conference Centre in Malabo, the capital city of Equatorial Guinea. 

The meeting was hosted by the Hon Minister of Defence of Equatorial Guinea, Mr Leandro Bakale Ncogo.  
Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Salihi Magashi rtd was represented by the Defence Attache accredited to Equatorial Guinea, Navy Captain Oluseyi Oladipo.

 Other dignitaries in attendance at the meeting were the Cameroonian Minister of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo and the Equatorial Guinea Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Simeon Oyono Esono Angue. 

 Also, the Gabonese Minister of the Interior, Mr Lambert Matha, participated from Libreville by videolink. 

Also in attendance were several other senior government officials  in Equatorial Guinea. 

The meeting resolved to collaborate closely to eradicate piracy and other maritime threats in the Gulf of Guinea.
