Defence Minister, Bashir Magashi (rtd), Indian High Commissioner sign MoU on Military Cooperation between Nigeria & India

Towards enhance military cooperation between Nigeria and India, Minister of Defence, Maj Gen Bashir Magashi (rtd) on Friday hosted and signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Abhay Thankur in Abuja.
A statement signed by the Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Abdulkadri said issue of bilateral interest between the two Countries were discussed behind closed doors and were not made available to the media.

Furthermore, the statement said the signing of the MoU was witnessed by Senior Military Officers and some Principal Personnel of the Ministry as well as the Indian Defence Adviser to Nigeria, Colonel Cachin Dubey.
Highlight of the visit was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries Armed Forces which emphasizes Defence co-operation in the areas of training and exchange of Military programmes.
There is subsequent exchange of plagues between the host Minister and his visitor.
