The body of late Colonel Isaac Ayodele Fayemiwo was laid to rest at the Anglican Communion St. Peters Church, Ibokun, cemetery on Thursday, June 11, 2020..
He lived from 23rd October 1937-1st January 2020.
Colonel Isaac Ayodele Fayemiwo was born in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State into the family of Chief Daniel Oyewole Fayemiwo and Chief Mrs Victoria Omoyefa Fayemiwo.
He hailed from Ibokun, Osun State. At the St. Peters Anglican church, Ibokun, Papa Isaac Ayodele Fayemiwo was fondly called “BABA EGBE IJO PETERU MIMO IBOKUN”.
Isaac Ayodele Fayemiwo joined the Nigerian Army as a member of the Direct Regular Course 3 in November 1969.
He served meritoriously in the Nigerian Army and earned his promotions progressively.
He was a member of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Senior Staff Course 3.
This is to mention but few among many courses he attended.
Papa Isaac Ayodele Fayemiwo was a veteran of the Nigerian Civil War.
At the funeral service he was discribed as a great achiever and humane.
A highly organized, sincere, disciplined, dedicated, selfless and humble man.
Late Col Isaac Ayodele Fayemiwo’s body was finally laid to rest with full compliment of Military burial Ceremony.
The General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army Major General Anthony Bamidele Omozoje who represented the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai handed over the National Flag and other insignia to the Next of Kin of the late senior officer.
Maj Gen Omozoje also read the funeral Ovation of late Col Isaac Ayodele Fayemiwo at the grave site St. Peters Anglican church, Ibokun, cemetery.
In attendance, to pay the last respect to Papa were a lot of senior officers, both serving and retired.
The Chief of Budget and Account, ‘Army’, Maj Gen AR Bakare was also in attendance.
