His words, “The Special Guest of Honour Sir, today, is a very memorable day for all Military Police personnel (both serving and the retired), as it is a day we have all been earnestly waiting for. It is one of the most historic and remarkable day since the establishment of NACMP as a Corps.

” As a Corps we will be serving 2 major historic points. The commissioning of an ultra-modern, state of  the arts brand new headquarters complex, the remodelled Special Investigation Branch edifice, canteen and the MT Yard, which will accommodate the MTO and QM.

“Secondly, the commissioning is been done by the one we hold  so dear to our heart, the one whose leadership, reputation for unquantifiable achievements far transcend our comprehension, the Special Guest of Honour, Lt Gen TY Buratai, Chief of Army Staff of the Nigerian Army.

Recalling that he took over as Ag PM (A) on 6 April  2018 and inherited a carcass structure that was first initiated by the former PM (A), Maj Gen PAT Akem (rtd), Ahmed said the project was one of his contributions initiated to enable the NACMP own a befitting Headquarters complex in Abuja after the Corps Headquarters relocated with AHQ from Lagos.

“His successor Maj Gen AT Hamman also continued with the project until he was posted out to DHQ in 2018.

“When I took over, I was determined to complete their legacy, therefore, I approached the COAS on the need to complete the project and also remodel the SIB edifice which needed restructuring.

“To the glory of Almighty Allah, the COAS not only listened, he immediately provided all the resources that enabled the completion of these projects that we are here to commission. Therefore, before I go further, I would like to on behalf of the officers, soldiers, civilians staff and entire NACMP family thank the COAS for this magnanimity that made our dream a reality.

Brig Gen Ahmed continued, “The HQ Complex which I inherited at carcass level was meant to be a one storey complex housing 22 offices and a conference hall.

“Additionally, the already completed and occupied SIB complex lacked requisite structures and standardized investigation facilities.

“These structures fell short of the COAS’ building standards and did not meet the Corps’ futuristic expansion plans.

“The Corps HQ has been expanded to accommodate 54 offices, 3 large conference halls, a library, 4 interview rooms (with viewing areas) and a forensic laboratory.

“The project also includes a car park, quarter guard and related structures, as well as an access control sentry post.

“Furthermore, the SIB complex has been expanded and restructured to accommodate a befitting Comd’s office, conference room and Black House (Investigation/Interrogation room).

“Kindly permit me to also inform the COAS that the MT yard and Canteen were built from the scratch.

” The COAS sir, The NACMP cannot thank you enough as we sincerely appreciates your generosity in providing all the resources and enablement which made these dreams a reality. We are indeed immensely grateful and delighted.
“Today we are excited in joining the comity of progressive NA Corps to hoist achievements attributable to our indefatigable COAS.

“I want to assure the COAS that we shall utilise these edifices towards attaining your Vision which is to have a professionally responsive NA in the discharge of its constitutional roles and enhance our performance will judiciously use the complex to police the NA by enforcing laws, orders and maintaining service discipline at all times.

The Provost Marshal used the opportunity of the commissioning of the magnificent building to draw the attention of the COAS to where “your law enforcement officers are being trained in Zaria also at Basawa Cantonment which hosts NASMP, NASLS and 11 FER.

“Consequently, we crave your indulgence and your kind generosity by intervening in these areas too.

“We are very optimistic and hopeful that a visit to these places by the COAS, like a Midas’ touch can turn things around for officers and soldiers as well as the entire Basawa Cantonment community.

He reiterated “our unalloyed loyalty to you ( COAS) and sincere commitment to the attainment of your (COAS) vision.
