Police nab Suspects who invaded EFCC Chairman’s Farmhouse, Killed Sergeant; 3 Airforce Officers Took Part in operation.

The Police Force headquarters on Money paraded three suspected armed robbers including a dismissed Nigerian Airforce Personnel for the invasion of the farm house of EFCC Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, in Karshi, FCT and killing of a Police Sergeant, guarding the Farm house.

The armed robbers who also made away with two AK 47 rifles belonging to the Police officers and their telephones are Inalegwu Omipa, Francis Ochife and dismissed NAF officer, Lance Corporal Vincent Michael with Force number 12/26972.

At the parade of the suspects, leader of the gang; Inalegwu Omipa disclosed that an informant (Francis Ochife) told him the Police Sergeant and another Private Policeman were guarding only one cow and two sheep in the large farm house and that it created the suspicion that the animals were a smokescreen to cover money being kept in the farm house.

Omipa disclosed that when the plan was hatched to go for the suspected hidden money, he contacted one Cassidy now at large who contacted the dismissed NAF personnel because they, NAF people will know how to disarm the policemen.

The NAF personnel that took part in the operation were three in number. The other two are being detained by the Airforce while Lance Corporal Vincent was dismissed and handed over to the police.

Throwing more light on the arrest, Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, SP Aremu Adeniran who paraded the suspects said the gang of 5 invaded the farm house of the EFCC chairman on the 12th of December, 2017.

He said that following the directive of the Inspector General of Police, the Intelligence Response team swung into action and arrested the suspects from various locations after discreet investigation.

SP Adeniran said the 2 AK 47 rifles and 2 phones belonging to the dead policemen and his other colleague, 2 magazines and 60 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the home of Lance Corporal Vincent in Oturkpo, Benue State.

Leader of the gang, Inalegwu Omipa who noted that no money was found in the farm house, stated that the NAF personnel told him that since the mission to recover the suspected huge sum of money proved abortive, he would go sell the AK 47 rifles to an Alhaji for N400, 000 each to cater for their expenses.

The dismissed NAF personnel, Lance Corporal Vincent owned up to recruiting the other NAF personnel for the operation adding that he was dismissed by the Airforce after the robbery attack and handed over to the police.

The Deputy Force PRO said the suspects would be arraigned in court as soon as investigation into the crime is completed.
