The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has commended President Muhammad Buhari for supporting the security architecture of the state towards protection of lives and properties
Governor Abiodun made the commendation while playing host to the General Officer Commanding, GOC 81 Division, Major General lawrence Fejokwu accompanied by Brigade Commander 35 Artilery Brigade, Alamala Barracks, Abeokuta, Brigadier General Ehimwenma Amadasun and other senior military officers on his familiarisation tour of units under the Division at the Exco chamber Okemosan Abeokuta.
The Governor disclosed that President Buhari has been supportive to the current administration since its inception by giving it the required assistance through the Nigerian Army
The Governor while commending the officials of Nigerian Army and other security agencies in the state for their gallant demonstration during the end sars protest, further said the state was adjudged as the most peaceful during the crisis despite its closeness to Lagos. This as a result of the collaboration between the government and the security agencies
Charging the military officers to continue assisting the government to stem criminality across the state, Governor Abiodun assured that Government would improve on the existing relationship with the military formations by supporting them with the necessary logistics to enhance their operations.
He stressed that the vision of the Government is to transform the state economy by creating enabling environment for public private partnership, (PPP) through the enthronement of formidable security mechanism for safety of the people living in the state.
Earlier, the General Officer commanding 81 Division, Major General Lawrence Fejokwu said he was in the state to see how the various units under his division are doing and to thank Governor Dapo Abiodun for the support he has been giving to Alamala barracks.
Major General Fejokwu assured that the security outfit saddled with the responsibility of protecting the nation’s territorial sovereignty would continue to be proactive and cooperate with the government in stemming crimes in ogun state.
Similarly, the GOC charged soldiers of 35 Artillery Brigade to be dedicated and loyal in their profession as soldiers at all times.
General Fejokwu gave the charge on 23 March 2021 when he paid a maiden visit to Headquarters 35 Artillery Brigade Nigerian Army Alamala, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Addressing the troops, the GOC urged them to be dedicated and loyal to constituted authority noting that illegal activities by soldiers that will put the Nigerian Army’s image in disrepute should be avoided or they should be prepared to be dismissed from the Army as the Nigerian Army does not tolerate indiscipline.
Furthermore, he warned troops under command to avoid illegal duty pointing out that negligence on duty will be dealt with squarely.
General Fejokwu also advised the soldiers to maintain cordial relationship with other security agencies and the host community at large and also to tolerate each other.
