Special operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested 10 suspected kidnappers and armed robberry suspects terrorizing residents of Oghor community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State after a raid on their hideout.
They were nabbed on Wednesday following a marching order to the Delta State Police Special Squad by the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ari Ali.
It was gathered that the hideout where the suspects were picked up had over the years, served as a haven to kidnappers, armed robbers and criminals who attacks security agents.
Delta State Police spokesman, DSP Edafe Bright who confirmed the raid, disclosed that based on the order of CP Ali, a crack team from Eagle – Net squad led by DSP Inusa Danyaya, ably assisted by some civilians stormed the notorious hideout and engaged the armed hoodlums in a gun battle leading to the arrest of the 11 suspects.
He listed the suspects as Henry Ogor, Kennedy Ampio, Promise Ophiomo, Daniel Believe, Paul Zion, Igah Aminu, Philip Choice, Joshua Ogunamen, Johnson Opiomo and Joshua Godswill.
It was learnt that one of the suspects, Igah Aminu, who in the course of exchange gun fire was fatally wounded by the superior police bullet, gave up the ghost. His corpse have been deposited in a hospital morgue.
The police team recovered two English barreta pistols, three rounds of live ammunitions and six mobile phones from the hoodlums.
