Recall that the death of the late Oba was officially made public on Friday, April 29, by the palace.
Oshiomhole later paid a condolence visit on the Crown Prince, Iheneden, on Monday.
Meanwhile, the ‘Afenmai Patriots’ has condoled with the people of Bini Kingdom and the Edo State government over the death of the Bini Monarch Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Erediauwa.
The Coordinator of the Afenmai Patriots Dr. Kennedy Izuagbe, and the interim spokesman of the group Mr. Lucky Anyia in a statement in Benin City over the weekend described the death of the sage as a huge loss to the people of Edo State particularly at this period when his wealth of experience would have greatly been needed.
The group noted with nostalgia his sterling leadership qualities which helped to translate to peace and tranquility across Edo land.
Afenmai Patriots further described the late Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo as a non triabalized monarch, a man of honour, integrity and above all a first class technocrat.
The statement said, “We the Afenmai people will greatly miss the Oba for his uprightness and justice noting how he stood solidly with Comrade Adams Oshomhole an Afenmai son in the turbulent days”.
The group however noted that the indelible marks which the Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo left in the sand of times will be well built upon by the Crown Prince Eheneden Erediauwa whom the group described as a fine and well groomed gentleman.
Afenmai Patriots prayed that almighty God will grant the Crown Prince the requisite wisdom to rule over the great people of Bini Kingdom.
Afenmai Patriots also prayed that God grants the departed a peaceful transition and the Enigies, Palace Chiefs, and subjects of Bini Kingdom the fortitude to bear the loss.
